2016年的時候，他被診斷出患有囊腫性纖維化(cystic fibrosis) 。這是一種遺傳性疾病，患者無法自然懷孕生育 。然而，Mason明明已經(jīng)和前妻Kate，現(xiàn)年54歲，生了三個兒子了。
Mason隨即提起訴訟，狀告Kate在親子關(guān)系上的詐騙行為 。而在之前離婚協(xié)議時，Mason曾一次性付給Kate400萬英鎊(3495.48萬人民幣)費(fèi)用 ，后續(xù)還提供過一些孩子的撫養(yǎng)費(fèi)。
