中國日報社論寫道：
Clearly, there is an ill trend on the island that is turning a cultural event into a political farce. Wednesday's suspension is just the tip of the iceberg of the strained atmosphere across the Taiwan Straits as it came on the heels of a decision made a few days earlier that suspended individual travel permits to Taiwan for people from the mainland starting this month.
這一切都表明，金馬獎正在被一些不懷好意的人政治化。暫停影片和人員參加金馬獎，這只是冰山一角，在這之前不久，大陸官方剛剛暫停了對臺自由行簽注。
在該政評節(jié)目中，嘉賓費鴻泰對比了自己十幾年前到大陸的見聞和如今的現(xiàn)狀，認為臺灣人應當認清兩岸經(jīng)濟和文化關系的轉(zhuǎn)變。
他說：
幾十年前大陸春晚請到臺灣歌星，就代表賣座，現(xiàn)在完全顛倒過來。十年前我到大陸去，大陸很多朋友唱歌都唱臺灣歌，我這一兩年去，人家根本不唱臺灣歌……我們真的是夜郎自大。
近日網(wǎng)上熱傳的一則臺灣“名嘴”關于“大陸人連榨菜都吃不起”的視頻就是這種“夜郎自大”的生動例證。
可笑的是，該“名嘴”連涪（fú）陵榨菜的音都讀不準……
該政評節(jié)目中的另一位嘉賓李明賢則尖銳批評了蔡英文當局的行為正使兩岸經(jīng)濟文化交流倒退。
他談到蔡英文“選舉”時承諾臺灣一句：“維持現(xiàn)狀”。可是現(xiàn)在兩岸交流卻不斷退縮，所謂“維持現(xiàn)狀”的承諾不斷被打破，“難道我們要退到我小的時候兩岸敵對的狀況嗎？”
然而民進黨不反思，反而覺得自己撿到“競選”籌碼，李明賢認為這種態(tài)度“令人感到悲哀”。
對此，中國日報社論稱：
Given the words and deeds of Tsai and her administration, people cannot expect cross-Straits exchanges would go on like nothing has happened. Tsai and her administration should reflect on what they have done to facilitate cross-Straits exchanges. They have done the opposite.
由于蔡英文團隊的言行，兩岸關系大不如前。但蔡英文和她的團隊不僅沒有反思過自己的行為給兩岸民眾帶來了多少傷害，反而還在繼續(xù)他們的倒行逆施。
By painstakingly pushing their pro-independence stance and stoking cross-Straits confrontation through various artifices, Tsai and her administration have poisoned the atmosphere for normal exchanges across the Straits.
蔡英文團隊整天忙的，不是臺灣民眾的福祉，而是想方設法推進“臺獨”、將兩岸推向?qū)α?。某種意義上來說，她們成功了——成功地將兩岸關系破壞無遺，成功地阻止了兩岸正常交流。
Cross-Straits exchanges are going backward today. For that, Tsai and her administration bear all the responsibility.
毫無疑問，海峽兩岸關系正在經(jīng)歷倒退。而究竟誰為此負責，相信大家心里都有數(shù)。
